Welcome to the South Bay Soaring Society web site

The South Bay Soaring Society (SBSS) is a radio controlled glider club based in San Jose, CA. We have access to flying sites in San Jose, Hollister, Fremont and Los Banos. The club is involved in slope soaring, thermal duration, aero-tow and scale soaring. A 501 (c) (7) Non Profit Organization.

Join The Club

Club meetings are usually held on the second Wednesday of each month.  The meeting is at the Saratoga Fire Station.   Park behind the fire station and walk around to the front.  Go in the front door.  There will not be anyone there.  Enter and go thru to doors to the left and right down the hall.  We are in the meeting room in the back.

The business meeting will start at 6:30 PM and general meeting starts at 7:15PM. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Free R/C sailplane instruction available to all.  We bring the plane and radio.  No experience necessary.  For more information contact Noel.

Outreach

SBSS sponsors outreach events to encourage interest in soaring to children and young adults.
